Howden Peterborough helps make local children’s Christmas wishes come true

Local insurance broker Howden Peterborough is helping spread Christmas magic this year, by working with local charity Little Miracles to give gifts to those that need them the most.

Little Miracles supports families who have children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions. The charity specialises in advice, activities and training for the whole family, and their work to support the community resonated with the local Howden team.

Hannah Somerville, Commercial Account Executive at Howden Peterborough explained: “At Howden, we’re firm believers that everyone deserves to celebrate Christmas, however they see fit. And this year, we’re proud to contribute to the incredible work at Little Miracles and bring some extra joy to these families during the festive season.

“We invited local businesses and community members to join us in this heart-warming initiative. We had over 20 donations, which has made a significant impact together. Every contribution, big or small, will help make a world of difference! By doing a simple act of kindness, which is what this season is all about, our wonderful community is helping make a local child’s Christmas extra special!”

Louise Evans, of Little Miracles, said: “Over the next few weeks at Little Miracles we are expecting to see hundreds of people who are part of a family who has a child with an additional need, disability or life-limiting condition.

“Having a child with a disability can be really expensive, and the presents donated by Howden’s will mean that many children will have a present on Christmas Day that the family might otherwise not have been able to afford.

“Little Miracles exists to ensure that no one has to go through what can be a very lonely, scary journey alone, but we cannot do it without the amazing support of companies like Howden’s. We rely almost entirely on voluntary donations and are incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated who will make a genuine difference to a local family this Christmas.”

One of the UK’s largest independent insurance brokers, Howden is focused on serving local people, locally. And part of that commitment is using insurance as a powerful force for good, with its teams taking a no-limits approach to everything they do. When they say they care about their clients, they mean it on every level—from helping individuals find cover for the most important things in their lives to supporting the communities they serve and the causes that matter to them.

Howden Peterborough Branch Manager José Meneses said: “We’ve also opened our North Pole Mail Service across its branches, so that children can send a letter to Santa this Christmas and even get a personalised response back. Just pop into the branch to pick up your postcard to get started – there’s still time before the big day!”
