This annual tradition brings the community together to celebrate the holiday season and support a cause that was close to Tyne Valley Motorhomes founder Derek Armstrong’s heart.
Following his passing nearly two years ago, the Christmas lights at Mountsett House, Burnopfield, NE16 6AZ, have become a cherished tribute to his legacy.
Founder Derek Armstrong was not only a pioneer in his field nearly 30 years ago but also a man dedicated to spreading joy through his own creative light displays.
Jonathan Bell, Managing Director of Tyne Valley Motorhomes and Derek’s stepson said: “Derek's Christmas lights were his way of bringing happiness to others, and we’re honoured to continue this tradition in his memory.
"By supporting Daft as a Brush, we are keeping his generous spirit alive and helping those in need.”.
All donations collected during the event will benefit Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care charity who provides free transport for outpatients undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments at Freeman and RVI hospitals in Newcastle.
Phil Powell, Chief Executive Officer of Daft as a Brush charity said: “Tyne Valley Motorhomes’ annual lights display at Mountsett House is a truly heartfelt tribute to Derek’s legacy, we’re deeply thankful for the continued generosity of the Tyne Valley Motorhomes family in helping us provide vital support to cancer patients. Last year, their efforts raised an impressive £1,903.54.”.
