New Theatre Royal (ntr) in Portsmouth is thrilled to announce an exciting lineup of National Theatre Live screenings this summer, bringing the best of British theatre to local audiences in Portsmouth and beyond.

National Theatre Live offers an unparalleled experience of London’s most acclaimed productions, filmed live from the National Theatre's iconic auditorium. 

Filmed with precision detail by multiple cameras, these screenings are carefully designed to capture every detail and emotion, to create the sensation of sitting in the best seats at the National Theatre, all within the charm and convenience of your local theatre environment in Portsmouth.

This summer's programme at ntr features four exceptional productions:

The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde - Thursday 15th May at 7:00 pm

A joyful reimagining of Wilde’s celebrated comedy starring three-time Olivier Award-winner Sharon D Clarke and Ncuti Gatwa (Doctor WhoSex Education). 

Dr. Strangelove - Thursday 12th June at 7:00 pm 

A world premiere stage adaptation of Stanley Kubrick’s comedy masterpiece, co-adapted and directed by Sean Foley, featuring seven-time BAFTA Award-winner Steve Coogan in four roles. 

A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams – Thursday 10th July at 7:00 pm 

This timeless masterpiece stars an all-star cast, including Gillian Anderson (Sex Education), Vanessa Kirby (The Crown), and Ben Foster (Lone Survivor). 

Inter Alia - Thursday 11th September at 7:00 pm 

A highly anticipated new play by Suzie Miller, starring Oscar-nominated Rosamund Pike (Gone GirlSaltburn).
