We choose five charities and try to reflect local, national and international causes. One of our Reception pupils nominated a charity called The Buddy Bag Foundation. This is a Birmingham based charity which aims to support children who have to be removed from their homes in emergencies. It provides children with a rucksack containing 12 essential items to help them through their darkest moments, including: pyjamas, underwear, toiletries, a book, a colouring set, and a beautiful handmade bear. The children of West Felton wrote a postcard to go in each bag with a message of hope and love.

Following our fundraising efforts, we were invited to take part in the packing of the bags. It was a great way to see how our donations helped and to spread more goodwill and hope for children around the country.
