Formed in 2022, Retsecrows—whose name is “Worcester” spelled backwards with an ‘s’ for the four members—have been building a loyal following with their explosive live shows, gritty originals and youthful energy. Despite all members being under 16 and their youngest just 13, they’ve already notched up over 12,000 Spotify streams across their first two singles, Grief Of Me and Blood Sea, and have performed at over 20 gigs across the Midlands in the past year alone.
Their Call Of The Wild appearance follows a standout performance at Mayor’s Fest in Wolverhampton, where they were spotted by festival organiser Raz White, who said:
“I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. They had the energy, the attitude, and crucially—the songs. It was an easy decision to bring them onto the Trailblazer Stage. These kids represent the future of rock, when I was their age I dreamt of something like this happening to me. It never did but now I have the opportunity to make such a dream come true - and that makes me genuinely happy.”
Celebrating its 5th anniversary, Call Of The Wild Festival has established itself as a must-attend event on the UK’s rock and metal calendar. Held from May 29 to June 1 at the Lincolnshire Showground, the festival boasts a family-friendly atmosphere. It has been shortlisted in UK Festival Awards in 2019, 2022 and 2023 and is renowned for mixing top-tier headliners with exciting new talent.
Retsecrows’ inclusion on the Saturday lineup is being seen as a major breakthrough moment, not just for the band, but for young talent across the UK rock scene.
Retsecrows vocalist and guitarist Luca said: “We’ve played some amazing shows this year, but this one’s on another level. We’re buzzing to show the crowd what we can do—and we’re proud to represent young musicians on such a big stage.”
With national press starting to take notice and an EP in the works, Retsecrows are proving that age is no barrier when it comes to raw talent and a passion for heavy music.
Catch Retsecrows live on the Trailblazer Stage at Call Of The Wild Festival, Lincoln, on Saturday 31 May.
