While the interactive tea party event – which will see little ones role-play their way through selecting picnic ‘food’, sitting down with their teddies (and their grown-ups) for a make-believe tea party, enjoy a special story created by education manager Lauren Addison and tidy up when they’ve finished – is included within PLAY@ ticket price during half term, donations to Birmingham Children’s Hospital will be welcomed during story time.
Farmer Richard Bower says: “Our Teddy Bears’ Picnic last year was a real hit in summer half term – and this year we are super-excited to be able to tie in the event with Birmingham Children’s Hospital’s Teddy Bears’ Picnic campaign.
“Over the years we’ve raised over £10,000 for the charity, which is close to our hearts, so this year we have woven Bertie Bear into our tea party story as the main character and we’ll have a collection bucket in story corner throughout the week where people can donate their spare change, should they wish.”
In addition to the Teddy Bears’ Tea Party adventure, visitors to PLAY@ over half term will be able to explore the farm’s enormous indoor playbarns and acres of outdoor play; enjoy a packed programme of animal talks and interactions and even hop on a tractor-trailer ride around the farm.
