Held in the elegant Hampton Lounge at The Burlington, the support group will run from 11am to 12pm and offers a relaxed and welcoming environment for those affected by stroke to connect with others, share experiences, and feel part of a supportive community.
The first session will take place on Tuesday 8th July 2025, with further meetings held monthly on the second Tuesday of each month. Upcoming dates include 12th August, 9th September, 14th October, 11th November, and 9th December.
This initiative is part of The Burlington’s continued commitment to community wellbeing, creating inclusive spaces where people feel valued and supported. The Stroke Support Group is designed to reduce isolation, encourage conversation, and offer a sense of reassurance to anyone navigating life after a stroke.
The group was launched by Kirsty at The Burlington, who was inspired to launch the initiative after supporting several families on their post-stroke journeys.
“Having supported several families affected by stroke, I saw a real need for a local space where people could feel heard, supported, and connected,” Kirsty shared. “The Shepperton Stroke Support Group is about creating that safe, welcoming environment — a place where people can share their stories, find reassurance, and know they’re not alone. It means so much to be able to offer this to our community.”
Arnold Matimba, Engagement Officer at The Stroke Association, shared his support following a recent event at the home; “The Burlington provided a welcoming space for people to come together, share their experiences, and build their knowledge. The engagement and positive feedback were fantastic, and it really highlights the importance of bringing stroke awareness into community settings like this.”
Offering residential, dementia, and short-stay care, The Burlington reflects Boutique Care Homes’ commitment to care so good, it’s unexpected.
