Jo, Business Development Manager, and Arlene, Practice Development Lead, represented Camberley Manor in the charity challenge, designed to test nerves and push personal limits — all in the name of raising vital funds for unpaid carers across Surrey.
The event saw contestants tackle a variety of ‘Bush Tucker Trials’, including a nerve-wracking reptile challenge involving pythons, tarantulas, and scorpions, as well as a series of adrenaline-fuelled physical tasks. The day culminated in a notorious eating challenge featuring a menu of fermented herring, pig’s blood, duck tongue, pig trotter, and other unusual delicacies.
Jo and Arlene together raised over £2,200, contributing to a remarkable total of over £11,000 raised by all participants.
In a proud moment for Camberley Manor, Jo was crowned the overall winner and awarded the title of Caring Queen of Surrey. Reflecting on the experience, she said:
“It’s been a privilege participating today amongst so many great contestants and we’re so proud to have raised this amount of money to support unpaid carers in Surrey. To be crowned winner is the icing on the cake!”
Adding to the celebrations, Arlene’s Blue Team won the team challenge and earned the honour of gunging the rival Pink Team — much to their delight!
