The decision was made to expand Specsavers Camberley’s audiology services in response to growing demand in the local community.
The store’s new service was launched on Friday 1 May, providing a 30% increase in new appointments for customers.
There is already a dedicated hearing room at the store for these extra appointments, with an additional audiologist hired to help deliver the increased service.
As well as continuing to offer wax removal, the store now offers hearing tests, hearing aid dispensing, and custom hearing protection such as swimming, music, and motorcycle plugs.
Emma Walker, the director for hearing services for Specsavers Camberley, says: ‘I’m really pleased that Camberley Specsavers is now an audiology hub, as it means we have even more opportunity to deliver exceptional hearing care to the local community.
‘There’s been a growing demand for more audiology services in Camberley, which is backed up by census data showing an 11.7% increase in residents over the age of 45 in the town.
‘This increase in our services shows not only a reaffirmation to hearing care and ear health in the region, but also a commitment to supporting the communities we operate in.’
To celebrate the new hub, Specsavers Camberley is taking part in a Big Fit Week in May, with the store looking to book people in for hearing tests and have the Advance brand of hearing aids fitted on the same day with £100 off the purchase price.
The offer will take place between Monday 19 May and Friday 23 May, and is sponsored by hearing aids manufacturer Phonak, which will have reps at the store throughout the week.
