This has restored Post Office service to the town centre after the WHSmith branch where Camberley Post Office was based closed in February. It is inside a new convenience store called Centre Court, which soon will be stocking newspaper and magazines.

Camberley Post Office is now further along the High Street at the A30 end of the High Street. It is the same side of the road as before.

New owners Ajinder and Keran Kapoor are already experienced retailers as they also have Wandsworth Bridge Road and North End Road Post Offices, both in Fulham. They have designed their Camberley branch to meet the needs of current Post Office users, including longer opening hours and quicker parcel collection.

Al Pinkerton MP said: “I want to congratulate Ajinder and Keran Kapoor on their great-looking Post Office and convenience store. Camberley town centre really needs a Post Office, so residents, businesses and shoppers are relieved that they did not need have to wait too long for a replacement branch.

“The extended opening hours are far better for people living busy lives.”

Opening hours are Monday to Saturday: 7am – 7pm; Sunday: 9am – 5pm. For more specialist services, including full on demand foreign currencies, the times are Monday to Saturday: 9am – 5.30pm.

This provides 92 hours of Post Office service a week for most everyday Post Office services making it convenient for customers. This is significantly longer than the opening hours previously offered including all-day Sunday, Saturday afternoon, earlier opening and later closing daily.

Postmaster, Ajinder Kapoor, said: “It’s going well in Camberley. People are really pleased that we have opened. Word is spreading that we are here and customers just need to wonder a little further along the high street to find us, but parking is better here. There are no self-service machines, but there is face-to-face service with well-trained staff.”

There is more time-limited parking generally available than at the previous location. There is 30-minute restriction until 5pm, however, Camberley Post Office is open later than that. There is also no time restriction on a Sunday, which also make it easier to pop in.

There are two full-screened counters offering the full range of Post Office services and an open plan counter alongside the retail counter of the convenience store. There is a Post Office tablet for online passport services and driving licence renewal, plus a photobooth for photographs for paper-based applications.

Camberley Post Office offers the same wide range of services and has been designed with lots of storage space for the growing parcels market. There are clearly segregated areas for the incoming and outgoing mail services that they provide including Amazon, DPD, Evri, Royal Mail and Parcelforce to provide a speedy collection service for parcels.

During consultation re the relocation of Camberley Post Office people welcomed the return of the branch to the town centre and the extended hours.
