With months of rehearsals and dedication the troupe performed songs including ‘Under Pressure,’ ‘Another One Bites The Dust’, ‘I Want To Break Free,’ Don’t Stop Me Now’ and the iconic ‘We Will Rock You’ – and they certainly did! The West End performance was a showcase of their courage, creativity and artistry.
Caroline McCrink, Principal of Stagecoach Chertsey praised her students’ efforts:
“I’m so grateful my students had this incredible opportunity to tread the boards on a West End stage! From start to finish the atmosphere was electric and I was so proud of our group as they cheered on the other performers and had a ball!’’
With performances like this, Stagecoach continues to offer young people opportunities to build their confidence, creative courage and take their new skills to extraordinary places.
Caroline continues:
‘It’s a tall order to ask children aged 10-17 to put together a performance piece in just 11 lunchtime Saturday sessions but they pulled it off with flying colours! Everyone loves the music of ‘Queen’ and our piece proved to be a real crowd pleaser and received thunderous applause and cheers from the audience!’
Stagecoach Chertsey is celebrating its 21st anniversary year and is run by husband and wife team Caroline and Paul McCrink who took over the school in 2010. Known for having a ‘family’ atmosphere some students have attended for 13 years having joined in Early Stages at age 4 and now they have performed in the West End which is an incredible journey. All the performers have memories to treasure for a lifetime!
