Local care home Signature at Reigate Grange has opened a new dementia day care service for the community, offering compassionate, personalised support to local people living with dementia and providing peace of mind for their families and caregivers.

Responding to a growing need in the Reigate community, the service offers a safe, engaging, and professionally led environment.

Guests benefit from specialist dementia care, stimulating activities, and meaningful social interaction, all carefully tailored to each person’s needs and interests.

Whether it’s enjoying a hot lunch with peers, participating in a creative workshop, or simply relaxing in a familiar and friendly space, every part of the day care experience intends to empower and uplift guests. Families can also choose from flexible day packages, offering valuable respite and support. Mariyana Storey, Dementia Care Manager at Signature at Reigate Grange, said:

“Every guest brings their own story, their own needs, and their own spark. Our role is to listen, to guide, and to celebrate every small win.”

The launch of this new service is a significant step forward in addressing the local gap in dementia care provision. With the number of families affected by dementia continuing to rise, Signature at Reigate Grange is offering a holistic solution that combines expert care with meaningful community values. Mariyana continued:

“We’re incredibly proud to be introducing this service. We know how difficult it can be to find the right support for a loved one living with dementia, and our day care service has been built to provide just that – a place where guests can feel respected, stimulated, and truly supported, even if just for a few hours a day.

To mark the occasion, Signature at Reigate Grange hosted a special launch event attended by distinguished guests including the Mayor and Mayoress of Reigate, who joined families, supporters, and local residents in exploring the new space and taking part in a rich programme of activities. Guests enjoyed interactive dementia training, live music from a talented keyboardist, and had the chance to try out the home’s innovative magic table technology, designed to stimulate memory and cognition.

Jayne Connery, Director of Care Campaign for the Vulnerable, a national, non-profit organisation championing safety, transparency, and accountability in the UK care sector also joined the celebrations, with Jayne officially opening the new day care centre with a ceremonial ribbon cutting.

Also in attendance were Chris Williams, CEO of BRACE Alzheimer’s Research, and Liberty Harrison, BRACE’s Head of Fundraising, who spoke passionately about the importance of funding research and raising awareness, and about the promising partnership between BRACE and Signature at Reigate Grange, which was formed earlier this year with the hope of raising £2,500 for the charity.
