The agreement between the football association and the high street opticians was first made in November 2016. Specsavers’ support goes towards grassroots football across the county.
The partnership includes the ongoing naming rights for the Senior County Cup to continue to be called the Specsavers Surrey Senior Cup. This also includes the brilliant mascot competition which sees 22 children be mascots for the final hosted at Meadowbank, Dorking.
The draws for the Specsavers Surrey Senior Cup will also be held live with Specsavers staff and hosted in different stores across the county, with the most recent January draw being held in the Dorking store.
The agreement also means that the County Cup trophy will go on a roadshow across the Surrey Specsavers stores, as well as providing opportunities to engage with local clubs.
Davinia Hadley, the practice manager at Specsavers Dorking - the location of the recent County Cup draw - says: ‘It’s fantastic to see our sponsorship of the Surrey FA extend for a further three seasons. All of my colleagues across Surrey are passionate about supporting our local communities, and supporting grassroots football in the county is a great way for us to do that.
‘The funding helps make football accessible to everyone in the county, promoting healthy living and celebrating our country’s rich footballing heritage. We’re delighted to keep this support going and stay involved in the great work the Surrey FA does.’
Kirk Ritchie, head of marketing and partnerships at the Surrey FA, says: ‘We are delighted to renew our partnership with Specsavers for the next three years, continuing to drive the Specsavers Surrey Senior Cup as the flagship competition in Surrey.
‘This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to supporting football across the county. We are also encouraging local grassroots clubs to connect with their local Specsavers stores to explore partnership opportunities by contacting marketing@surreyfa.com.’
