Designed for all ages and abilities, participants will dash through Beddington Park in for a one-mile Fun Run course, doing as many laps as they dare in two hours. All participants will receive a mask and a cape to wear for the event and full costumes are also encouraged!
Young heroes (aged under 11) will need a trusted adult sidekick to accompany them for the run, with adult sidekicks running for free. All superhero runners with paid entries will receive a medal at the finish line.
Non-runners are also invited to join in the festivities and enjoy stalls, entertainment and food in the park all day, helping to raise much needed funds for the Hospice.
Samantha Bourne, Events Fundraising Manager at St Raphael’s Hospice says: “This exciting new event will gather our community of all ages together, for a great cause. Our supporters, both old and new, are truly heroes for our charity as we only receive around 25% of our funding from the NHS. The rest is raised through the generosity of our incredible local community.”
Samantha adds: “This fundraising event is a brilliant opportunity for our Hospice to shine a light on the everyday heroes that help us continue to be here for the people of Merton and Sutton when they need us most.”
St Raphael’s Superhero Family Fun Day is taking place at Beddington Park SM6 7NN on Sunday 22 June, 10am - 4pm, with the Fun Run at 11am. £12 per Fun Run entry, with a suggested fundraising target of £75. Accompanying adult sidekicks and mini heroes under two-years-old go free.
