Hester and Adam Wicking and Sophie and Matt Richardson have quickly formed a close bond.
Sophie, an HR business partner for renowned guitar manufacturer Fender, reached out to Hester soon after moving in. “I heard that another couple in the development were expecting twins, so I knocked on their door and introduced myself to Hester. She was so grateful for me reaching out, and we just hit it off from minute one.”
Hester, who recently gave birth to twin boys Oscar and Luka, shares the sentiment. “We instantly connected, and we are so lucky to have met Sophie and Matt who we get on so well with. It’s wonderful to have such supportive neighbours who understand what we’re going through as new parents of twins.”
Sophie and Matt moved into their spacious four-bedroom home at Willow Fields just before December with their one-year-old twins, Oliver and Archie. Coming from a small period cottage near Gatwick, they were drawn to the peaceful charm of Alfold.
“We wanted to be close to family, and now we live just two minutes from Matt’s mum,” Sophie explained. “With childcare costs so expensive, we’re incredibly grateful to have support close by. We also wanted a bigger home with green space for the children to play.
"Our new home has an open-plan kitchen-dining area, a separate living room, an office downstairs, and a cloakroom. We can’t wait to enjoy the garden once the weather warms up!”
Hester, who started her cake business, ‘Bakes by Hester’, during lockdown, has also found Willow Fields to be the perfect place to settle. “My business has grown steadily, and I love creating cakes for weddings and special occasions. Having the extra space in our four-bedroom detached home makes such a difference. We love the quiet setting at Willow Fields and the ability to go for walks straight from our doorstep.”
For both couples, the move to Willow Fields has been an overwhelmingly positive experience. With their young families growing up in a welcoming community, they look forward to many years of friendship and shared memories.
Jo Dixon, marketing manager at Bewley Homes, commented: “It’s fantastic to see how Willow Fields is bringing people together. We design our developments to create a real sense of community, and it’s heartwarming to see friendships like this blossoming. We’re delighted that both families have settled in so well.”
Nestled in the charming Surrey village of Alfold, Willow Fields, has been hailed by buyers as a true "hidden gem."
Perfectly positioned to enjoy the best of both worlds, Willow Fields offers the tranquillity of village life while being just a stone’s throw from Cranleigh, Horsham, and Guildford — and within easy reach of London.
