Cubs Cause Chaos 2025

This weekend saw Cub Scouts and volunteers camping in the warm weather at Bentley Copse’s Cubs Cause Chaos camp.

Cub Scouts and Volunteers from Reigate, Cobham, Shalford, Bookham, Weybridge, Teddington, Purley and Hampton enjoyed a weekend of activities at Bentley Copse which included Leap of Faith, Circus skills, Bouncy fun run, Climbing, Abseiling, Air Rifle, Archery, Pedal Go Karts, Aeroball, Adventure course, Zip wire, Cave maze, Crate stacking, Gladiator challenge, Nerf wars and Jacobs Ladder but to name a few.

On the Friday evening, there was a film the Cubs could watch and on the Saturday evening there was a campfire and a disco.

This event ensures that the Cub Scouts involved gain #skillsforlife and gives them opportunities their own groups cannot provide in a safe and fun way.

Ellen aged 10 a Cub Scout from Reigate said: “I liked the Leap of Faith best as it was fun and exhilarating”.

Kylie aged 9 a Cub Scout from Teddington said: “I really liked he Zipline because it was like a rollercoaster in its speed”.

Esme aged 10 a Cub Scout from Teddington said: “I liked the film and disco because they were really fun and made me happy”.

Anfa aged 8 a Cub Scout from Purley said: “I liked the cave maze because you didn’t know where you were going to come out of”.

Raisin aged 9 a Cub Scout from Purley said: “I liked the cave maze because it was dark and scary and it was funny when you came back out where you started”

Esma aged 8 a Cub Scout from Purley said: “I liked the high ropes because they were very high and scary”.

Joel aged 9 a Cub Scout from Reigate said: “I liked the rifle shooting because you can take the targets home to show your family”.

Nell aged 9 a Cub Scout from Bookham said: “I liked the abseiling because it was fun to lower yourself down”.

Austin aged 9 a Cub Scout from Weybridge said: “I liked the adventure course because it was fun as there were lots of obstacles and I liked being able to go into the shop as I got a new badge”.

Damon aged 9 a Cub Scout from Hampton said: “I liked the Zipline as it was amazing as I have never been on one before”.

Hamish aged 9 a Cub Scout from Cobham said: “I liked how many activities there were to do”.

Nicholas aged 10 a Cub Scout from Cobham said: “I liked the zip wire and meeting other Cubs”.

Oliver aged 8 a Cub Scout from Shalford said: “I liked doing all the activities as there were lots to do”.

A Volunteer from Weybridge said: “A Cub was scared to do Zip Wire but on the 2nd attempt he managed it, other Cubs from the pack rant to greet him with pride and solidarity which was great to see."

Steve Valiant (Leader Volunteer (Cub Scouts – Surrey Scouts) said: “The event run by Bentley Copse was an amazing weekend of activities and new skills (#skillsforlife) being with friends and making new ones”.
