Churchill Living is inviting locals to enjoy the great outdoors and embrace the benefits of walking at a Wellbeing Walk event on Thursday 26th June. The guided walk will begin at 10:45am from Colebrooke Lodge in Woodhatch, Reigate, with arrivals from 10:30am and will finish back at the Lodge for light refreshments.
Organised in partnership with Ramblers Wellbeing Walks, this gentle, approximately 1.5-hour stroll offers participants the chance to get out into nature in the company of others. The Earlswood Lakes route is designed to be accessible, sociable and uplifting, ideal for the over 60s who want to stay active and connected.
Anne Scherrer, Senior Marketing Manager at Churchill Living’s South East division, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting this community walk with the Ramblers from Colebrooke Lodge. Walking is one of the simplest and most effective ways to maintain wellbeing throughout our lives. It is proven to reduce the risk of chronic illness, improve mental health and enhance overall quality of life. What better way to enjoy the summer weather than exploring your local surroundings with new friends?”
YMCA East Surrey commented: "Our goal is for everyone to have access to a friendly short group walk, within easy reach of where they live, to help them become and stay active. Walking is the easiest form of exercise for all ages and it's a great way to meet new people. The Earlswood Lakes walk is a real favourite with lots of opportunities for wildlife spotting."
Colebrooke Lodge is a development of one and two-bedroom apartments designed for the over 60s, ideally located in the heart of Woodhatch Village. With beautifully maintained gardens, a welcoming Owners’ Lounge with coffee bar and a supportive community environment, the Lodge is designed with ease of living in mind.
The walk also provides a chance for visitors to discover the local charm of Woodhatch, where Churchill Owners regularly enjoy the nearby zero-waste organic coffee shop, butchers, bakers and independent stores. Just over a mile from Reigate town centre and 1.5 miles from Priory Park, the area boasts a range of leisure and lifestyle amenities perfect for an active retirement.
