Build on Belief offer a weekend service to everyone, regardless of where they are at with their own recovery process. The café provides a safe and supportive environment, offering refreshments and an opportunity for people to talk and be heard as well as structured pathways for Substance Misuse and Alcohol addiction.
Volunteers from A Band of Brothers attend on a Friday, between 1pm-3pm, offering mentoring support to those men, aged between 18-25 years old, who are either caught up in the criminal justice system or are vulnerably housed.
Billie- Mae, from Build on Belief says: ‘During a time when people have taken the tough decision to deal with their addictions, it is vital that they have a place to visit, where they will not be judged and that they feel welcome.’
Build on Belief also offers additional advice on practical needs such as self-care as well as entertainment, music and housing support and advice.
Steve Wallis, a trained volunteer with A Band of Brothers added; ‘A Band of Brothers offers young men the chance to turn their lives around with 1-to-1 mentoring, a powerful Rites of Passage weekend, and ongoing support with addiction. mental health issues and relationships’.
