Lancing Bowling Club members enjoy a friendly at home

Friendly at home against Adastra on Saturday 24th May. The day was threatened with rain, but fortunately did not happen in the afternoon.

Lancing lost three of the triples and won with one, skipped by, Alan Wadey with team, John Munster and Karen Watson. This was a convincing win for Adastra 83-45. Captain of the Day, Jayne Thomas, Lancing Fixture Secretary, passed on Lancing’s condolence for her opposite number at Adastra, Frank Titord, who passed away recently.

On 26th May, Brodie Lancing v Worthing Pavilion took place. Thanks to Tim Clarke taking over Captain of the Day in place of Alan Wadey who would be taking part in County Triples later. Lancing was overall shot winners 69-60. However, Worthing Pavilion winning, the rink and one triple and a draw, resulting in the final result of game, 5-5 league points.

In the evening on 26th May, Sussex County Triples, Lancing v Burgess Hill away took place. Lancing team, Alan Bailey, Alan Wadey plus another. This was a competitive quality game. Lancing won 21-15, playing the Area Final on Thursday 29th.at 6pm. Well done to Lancing reaching this stage, but unfortunately Southwick played a strong game and won the Final, 21-12. 

Sussex County Pairs, played at Lancing against Southwick Park on Friday 30th. Alan Bailey and Alan Wadey played a close game. They were trailing 8-13 on fifteenth end, then putting pressure on Southwick Park, preventing them scoring anymore shots on the last ends, with Lancing winning 15-13. Their next round will be against Burgess Hill at their club on Monday 2nd June.

Edward Rowland, Lancing v The Drive Bowling Club on Saturday 31st played at the Drive’s club. Phil Hillsden, Les Koroknai, Martin Salter and Amin Ferdowsian played well together, with scores fluctuating throughout the game. On the last end scores was a draw, 21-21. An extra end was played when Club Captain, Amin Ferdowsian, scored the winning shot 22-21.
