Easter Saturday saw the Managers & Coach’s of Southwick fc take on Fishersgate Flyers Vets in a charity match in aid of The Martlets at Worthing FC. Southwick started by walking out onto the pitch accompanied their mascot who for most was their own child , The game began after a respectful minute silence for all those who couldn't sadly be with us on the day.
The whistle blew and the game began, the game was very close but on the final whistle it ended as a 2-2 draw, next were the dreaded penalties, again both teams continued to be very even until Craig Salvage the Southwick goal keeper saved a fantastic shot, the next southwick penalty was to go in which took them to an overall win of 5-4 on penalties.
The pitch was immediately invaded by Southwick youth players congratulating there peers, this was such a great achievement for Southwick as they had never played a game as a team before.
We raised over £1000 on the day through a raffle, cake stall & generous donations.
The atmosphere was electric throughout the game n the stands were aray of red & yellow Southwick kits, huge thank you to premier sports & Brighton Airport Cars for supplying the Trophy & Man of match award.
