String Dimensions: classical string trio performs at Boxgrove Priory, 5th March 2025

This exceptional ensemble showcases two virtuoso violinists, Bogdan Vacarescu and Akiko Ishikawa with the distinguished cellist Vanessa Lucas-Smith. Their program will take you on a fascinating journey of the evolution of violin playing from the Baroque to the Romantic era featuring works by brilliant violinist-composers, Tartini, Viotti, Pugnani, Kreutzer and Lipinski.

String Dimensions, founded by Bogdan Vacarescu in 2017, is a London-based chamber ensemble of international soloists. United by a mutual interest in performing music all too rarely heard in today’s concert programmes, they have given the UK premieres of lost masterworks such as Karol Lipinski and Antonio Bazzini’s works and perform neglected repertoire such as Fritz Kreisler’s String Quartet and works by Enescu and Cherubini. Their programmes also include original arrangements of well-known classical works for string duos, trios, quartets and larger groups.
