Bloomin’ marvellous result for Southwater school’s flower project

Children at Castlewood primary school in Southwater, near Horsham, were busy planting primroses as Mother’s Day gifts thanks to the support of a Sussex charity and a local garden centre.

The Budding Foundation works to support young people across the county and worked with Tates of Sussex to provide the necessary plants for the school. Tates run Old Barn Garden Centre at nearby Dial Post.

Spring has sprung, flowers are budding – there’s hardly a better season in the garden”, said Clive Gravett who formed the Budding Foundation in 2013 which funds educational courses and gardening projects.

“It was a joy to be able to work with Tates to help Castlewood school in their project to help pupils engage with horticulture.”
