National Apprenticeship Week: Lowestoft automotive expert turned FE teacher on how he supports new local talent enter the industry

A survey by the St Martins group revealed that 92% of the companies in the UK believe hiring apprentices leads to a better satisfied and motivated workforce. Matthew can share how industry experts can help introduce new talent to their industries through further education (FE) teaching. Mattew, aged 32, has been a motor vehicle studies teacher at East Coast College in Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth since 2021. He began his career in the motor industry working in independent garages and dealerships before deciding to make the change to teaching.
