Two showhomes now open at Western Grange in Killingworth

Bellway has opened two showhomes at a sought-after new housing development in Killingworth.

The two new showhomes at Bellway’s Western Grange in Killingworth.

The three-bedroom Harper and four-bedroom Reedmaker properties are the first two homes to be completed at Western Grange, just six miles from Newcastle city centre.

Due to the high level of demand, Bellway released the first homes onto the market last summer, three months earlier than planned – and 18 properties have already been reserved.

With construction progressing well, the first residents are expected to move into their new homes in May.

Bellway is building 366 homes at Western Grange, featuring a range of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties.

Bellway North East Sales Director Emma Chesterton said: “We have had an exceptional response to the new showhomes at Western Grange, which showcase the quality of construction and finish of the homes we are building here.

“These homes are also highly energy efficient and offer electric vehicle charging points to enable residents to use greener forms of transport, while there’s plenty of green open space being provided alongside the new homes.

“There’s been a phenomenal level of interest from people in the area which demonstrates how the development is meeting the local need for high-quality housing. We are looking forward to welcoming our first residents in May as this new neighbourhood continues to take shape.”

Western Grange is part of a wider 539-home development which was granted planning permission by North Tyneside Council in January last year. The other 173 homes are being delivered by Ashberry Homes – part of the Bellway Group – at its Woodland Edge site.

Bellway has committed to paying out £3.2 million towards local services and infrastructure as part of the planning agreement for the 539-home project at Killingworth.

That will include £1.1 million for bus services, £932,000 for education, £268,000 for road improvements, £214,000 for sports facilities, £194,000 for play areas/multi-use game areas and £173,000 for playing pitches.

There’s currently a choice of three and four-bedroom houses available to reserve at Western Grange, with prices starting from £259,995.

The first homes at Woodland Edge are due to be released for sale this summer.
