Tooth & Tiger 34 out of 35 from our judging panel of 14 primary school pupils from seven local schools.
Brad Thorpe co-owner said: “Thank you for the win. We hope to share the festive cheer with the amazing town and bars here in Pontefract! Have an amazing Christmas from the team here at Tooth & Tiger.”
Pontefract Civic Society hopes to see more people in Pontefract town centre exploring the Christmas displays, shopping locally, supporting family businesses, and enjoying the Christmas spirit.
Paul Cartwright, civic society chairman, said: “We visited 44 locations, which is lower than last year, though it was clear to our judges which businesses had gone to town with outstanding displays. One of last year’s runner up recipients made the grade again, Sense, on Market Place picked a 2nd place certificate with a score of 33, whilst Headhunters, also on Market Place came third with 31 points.”
Others which caught the pupils' imagination were The Hideaway, Cromwells, Bradleys Real Estate, Under Your Skin, Wild & Wood and Luxx Nail Bar.
Ian Shuttleworth, Halfpenny Lane head teacher, said: “Our pupil representatives really enjoyed their experience of being a judge at the Pontefract Christmas Window Decoration Competition. It is always a real pleasure to support the civic society and be involved in the different community projects.”
