The Bright Future Initiative — a £1.5 million, three-year partnership — will fund transformational support for young people experiencing homelessness, with a focus on creating Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE). These specially designed spaces offer tailored, trauma-informed care to help young people overcome past experiences, build resilience, and move toward independent living.
This marks the first national charity partnership for the Card Factory Foundation and will see it become the sole funder of key Centrepoint projects, including one-to-one therapy services and specialist support workers within the PIE team.
As part of the partnership, the Foundation will also become Centrepoint’s official Christmas Partner, donating £25,000 annually toward the charity’s festive gift drive. This annual contribution, included within the overall £1.5 million commitment, will help ensure thousands of young people receive a meaningful gift on Christmas Day — a moment of dignity and celebration during what can be a particularly difficult time for those without a stable home.

Youth homelessness remains a significant issue in the UK, with thousands of young people facing life without a safe or stable place to live each year. According to Centrepoint’s latest Youth Homelessness Databank research, 1,680 young people (aged 16–24) across South Yorkshire were recorded as having faced homelessness last year.
The partnership is already being welcomed by frontline teams.

The additional funding from the Card Factory Foundation will help us to strengthen that support even further — from improving the spaces we offer to expanding access to tailored, trauma-informed care. It’s a welcome boost for services across Centrepoint, including the team here in Barnsley and the young people we support.”
The partnership also marks the beginning of the Foundation’s longer-term ambition to support vulnerable communities through strategic, high-impact programmes. The Bright Future Initiative is the first of several major partnerships designed to deliver lasting change for those facing life’s toughest moments.
