Local care home is knitting for a good cause

Residents and staff at Cookridge Court Care Home has set themselves the challenge to knit lots of hats for the babies arriving at Leeds Children’s hospital during their weekly Knit and Natter Club. Residents Rose Towler and Margaret Lewis went along with 30 hats, two blanket plus a handful of cardigans to LGI Clarendon Wing Ward L45.

Rose who has been a resident for some years said ‘it’s so lovely to do something worthwhile for such a good cause and I hope they enjoy them’ 

The knitting Club meets weekly at Cookridge Court and residents and staff have enjoyed sitting chatting and creating these wonderful hats and blankets for the babies. They have not finished yet they plan to keep going through the year. If anyone would like to donate some wool or join us please contact the home.
