This year they are proud to have their annual exhibition as part of the 3 day Photo North Festival at The Carriage Works in Leeds City Centre. It runs from April 11 until April 13 and tickets are available on a daily basis or for a full weekend from the Photo North Website. The Festival is now in its sixth year and hosts many exhibitors, seminars and speakers on on range of photographic topics. It's also a terrific networking event and should be in the calendars of any discerning photographer of the district.

Leeds Photographic Society runs two programmes. In the Winter Programme, which runs from September until the end of April, they meet every Tuesday evening at 7.30pm. The programme consists of a range of photographic subjects including illustrated talks by external keynote speakers, practical evenings where members can practice and improve their camera skills, members evening where they can display their images and receive critiques from their peers, take part in internal and external competitions with critiques from external judges, work to achieve photographic distinctions and awards, have group outings, take art in internal and external exhibitions.

The Summer Programme takes place every second Tuesday from May until the end of July. The emphasis on this is very much social activity where members can make use of lighter evenings to meet up outdoors more often. It;s this that sets the society and other physcical clubs apart from the many online photographic groups on social media. All for the price of a cup of coffee from an international coffee chain per week!

The LPS Annual Exhibition consists of members images displayed both digitally and as prints and have been critiqued and marked by an external judge. The society asks visitors to pick their own favourite to see if they match with the judges decisions. The society will have members on hand to answer any questions about the society and go over the many benefits of being a member.

The LPS meets at St Edmund's Church, Lidgett Park Road, Roundhay, Leeds, LS8 1JN. Photographers of every level are welcome to come and check us out there, via our website or any of the social media channels
